When working with techOMS, you will come across terms, within our system or systems which interact with it, that you might not know or might not be sure what they mean.

Here's a definition table for the terms and acronyms you might need to become familiar with:

Vendor	eCommerce company using TechOMS for Order Management
Warehouse, Fulfillment Warehouse	A company (e.g. a fulfillment center) that stores a Vendor’s inventory and provides services to turn the inventory over - receiving inventory, picking products, packing boxes, labeling shipments, shipping orders, etc.
WMS	A Warehouse Management System is a software that’s used to manage almost all activity inside a physical warehouse of goods. This includes everything from inventory management, shipping, to receiving, allocating, picking, packing, and more.
Company	Vendors and Warehouses registered in TechOMS as a Company
Team member	A person that conducts main business processes for a specific Company
Customer	A person or an organization that purchases products from Vendors
Supplier	A third-party organization or person that provides products for a Vendor in accordance with a purchase order issued by a Vendor to a Supplier
Sales Order Stock/Line	The number of Product Variants in a Sales Order
Sales Order, SO	A commercial document that is prepared by a Vendor and issued to a Customer to confirm the sale of products involved in a given transaction
Incoming Sales Order, ISO	A Sales Order to be imported from a Sales Channel into TechOMS
Purchase order	A purchase order is created by a Vendor to communicate a list of products to purchase and is issued to a Supplier
Sales Order Fulfillment	The complete process from when a sale takes place all the way through delivery to a customer; Fulfillment includes order management, picking, packaging, and shipping
SKU	Stock Keeping Unit is a unique code used to identify every inventory item in a warehouse
Drop shipping	Drop shipping is a retail fulfillment method in which a business doesn't keep the products it sells in stock. When a drop shipping retailer sells a product, it purchases the item directly from a third party (a manufacturer, wholesaler, or another retailer) that ships the product directly to a customer.
EDI	EDI or Electronic Data Interchange is the structured transmission of data between organizations. This method of fulfillment is often used by retailers that will leverage third parties to ship directly to consumers.
