How to Show Carton ID in the Desktop Client [Step-by-Step guide]

You can enable showing the carton ID in the Desktop Client to ensure shipments are sent with the correct carton.


When enabled, the WMS populates the shipment tracking number with the carton ID. Desktop Client users can then pack using the carton ID, visible in the tracking field immediately after scanning. Once processed, techSHIP will update the tracking number field with its corresponding value.


NOTE: This feature is only available for supported WMS. To verify compatibility, go to techSHIP supported WMSs Plugins - Master List [Guides List], select the "Setup requirements" article for your WMS, and confirm the "Import carton ID as tracking" option is present. 


To show the carton ID in the Desktop client:


1. Select My Portal from the Maintenance menu.



2. In the WMS section, check the Import carton id as tracking checkbox.


3. Press Save.



Now the Carton ID provided by the WMS will be shown in the tracking number field until the order is processed.
