When setting up the techSHIP Desktop Client or Techdinamics Print Client, you might come across the "Access Denied: Invalid Portal or Credentials" error.
This error is caused by invalid connection settings within the application, specifically related to the portal address and credentials used for authentication.
To solve this issue you will have to:
1. Within the application, change from the Process to the Settings tab
2. Switch to the Connection (Desktop Client) or Printer (Print Client tab) view
3. Review and correct the following details in the connection fields as necessary:
- Portal, verify that:
- The address of your portal is filled out without including "http://" or "https://"
- Double-check the portal address is correct and doesn't have any typos
- Double-check, if you copy-pasted the value, that there are no empty spaces before or after it
- Username, verify that:
- You are using the username provided by your techSHIP Portal Administrator, typically, this is your corporate e-mail address
- Double-check, if you copy-pasted the value, that there are no empty spaces before or after it
- Your permissions have not changed
- Password, verify that:
- You are using the password provided by your techSHIP Portal Administrator
- Double-check, if you copy-pasted the value, that there are no empty spaces before or after it; if you're not sure it is recommended you retype it
- Your permissions have not changed
4. Press Save to apply the changes
If the values are correct, the error will not show again. If the issue persists, contact techSHIP support for additional review and instructions.
