How to Approve Sales Orders [Step-by-step guide]

You can approve previously created Sales Orders.

This article describes the steps and fields involved in the process.

 

NOTE: Make sure that you are operating at the right Vendor/Warehouse beforehand.

 

NOTE: If you intend approve a Sales Order as you create it, review the workflow in How to Create a Sales Order [Step-by-step guide].

 

NOTE: Orders currently in On Hold status cannot be manually approved using this procedure. To advance them manually, you must use the specific Release actions. For detailed instructions, refer to: How to Manage Sales Orders On Hold [Guide].

 

To approve a Sales Order you will have to:


1. Click Sales Orders under Sales


2. Select all the orders you wish to approve


3. Click Actions and select Approve Orders

 

NOTE: This action changes the Order Status to Approved and triggers inventory allocation. For detailed definitions of these changes, refer to Sales and Purchase Order Statuses Definitions [Information] and Understanding Inventory Levels and Order Status Impact [Information].

 


4. Click OK to confirm the action




The system will confirm the result of the action for either positive or negative result through a pop-up message.
